We visited John & Mary Tremaine’s Car Collection at Mandeville, which was well supported with 25 cars coming along. Many thanks to John & Mary, what a wonderful collection, and thanks again for sharing it with us.
We returned to the Lodge for the Christmas party for BBQ and a visit form Santa for the kids. A great day!

We had around 12 cars join us on our run to Colac Bay traveling via Dacre/Lornville thru to Riverton for a bit of sightseeing and liquid refreshments arriving for lunch at Colac Bay around 1pm where we had lunch and the kids took part in a coloring competition kindly judged by Raewyn Abernethy. Unfortunately planned games on the beach were a non-event due to the coast weather conditions. So we then travelled home via Winton, we hope you all enjoyed your day out.

7 cars left the Lodge on Friday 24th August to start the 1st part of trip to Hawea we travelled up through Alex, arriving in Hawea about 6pm great meal and night had by all, on the Saturday a further 6 cars met us in Wanaka and we travelled up to Haast arriving about 4pm, we experienced the “West Coast Rain” on Saturday night – a good challenge for boot rubbers & sunroof but apart from that there were no breakdowns. We traveled home slowly on the Sunday stopping at Cromwell for lunch arriving back to Gore around 6pm hope those who came enjoyed the change of scene for the weekend plans of doing another overnighter in the near future.

On Sunday 15th July we set out on our 2nd official club run down to the late Bill Richardson’s truck museum, followed by a few quiet laps of Teratonga. The day started off a bit chilly and road conditions weren’t the best as one of our Waikaia members found out as their XY Falcon found ice and left the road. But we left the Croydon Lodge in good time and we arrived at the museum mid morning.
We spent a couple of hours having a look around, and for those people that have never been down before the place is huge. We could have spent a lot more time there, and still not have taken it all in.
From there we went and had lunch for an hour and then it was off to Teretonga. We did 3 or 4 touring laps in order and then it was time for one car at a time to go for a run around without getting over excited. Everyone was pretty well behaved the only mishap was Alan Carmicheals Holden Torana shooting flames from the engine bay at one stage but with a bit of help from a couple of members and a bit of fun poke at Alan he was back on the road.
Thanks to those members who come on that day, we hope you enjoyed your day and are all looking forward to catching up next time.
